For guests staying at the lodge, this page will provide some useful information for you.

  • The Lodge address: 805 East Fork Rd, Clayton, ID 83227
  • Directions: From Stanley continue on State Highway 75 for about 38 miles (passing the hamlets of Sunbeam and Clayton, Idaho). Approximately 2 miles past the center of Clayton is the intersection with the East Fork Road (a paved road) across from the BLM East Fork Campground. Turn right and follow East Fork Road for 1/2 mile and The Lodge is the first driveway on the left on East Fork Rd. The second driveway is where the WCP office is located and where we live.
  • The lock box code for the Lodge is located on the front porch.
  • The closest town with a grocery store is Challis, ID. Challis is 27 minutes away. The closest gas station is Sawmill Station. The Sawmill Station is also a cafe and has some basic food and fishing supplies, maps, and even wine and beer on tap during the spring/summer/fall seasons.
  • There is a first aid kit in the closet on the main floor by the hallway to the bedrooms and a fire extinguisher under the sinks in the kitchen and in the laundry room.

  • Upon arriving at White Clouds Preserve (WCP) please be sure to sign the waiver on the table as you walk in. It is attached for your reference.
  • There are two wifi options. In order to get the most out of the wifi capacity, you should split your group up accordingly.

  • LOGIN: THE LODGE 2: PASS: WHITECLOUDSPRESERVE  (all caps no spaces)
  • There is a landline phone that is located downstairs in the game room and upstairs in the living room. The Lodge number is 208-838-1415. Feel free to use this line as needed. You can also use your cell phone to make calls if you have wifi calling available.
  • The TV’s only are able to play non bluray DVD’s. We have a small selection of educational DVD’s at The Lodge. 
  • There is an espresso machine that you are welcome to use and if you would like a tutorial, let us know.
  • Please allow us to show you how to use the fireplaces properly at The Lodge before use.
  • Feel free to contact us if you have any questions or concerns. Our land line is 208-838-2322. You can also try us on our cell phone at 304-268-4197 or feel free to swing by at 1415 E Fork Rd, Clayton, ID 83227. There is a dirt path along the river you can follow to us (tan, wrap around porch) or you can take the next driveway down East Fork Rd on the left. 
  • We will try to stop by soon after you arrive to welcome you.
  • Please let us know when you intend on checking out.
  • Please be sure to do your dishes and put trash in the trash bins in the garage.
  • Take any recycling with you that is not recyclable locally, such as glass or soup cans and plastics.
  • Please do not make the beds that were used.
  • Please put any dirty laundry in the laundry baskets in each room or in the laundry room laundry baskets.
  • Please lock all of the doors before leaving WCP.
  • You are welcome to leave any unopened nonperishable foods. They will be donated to the local public health department. You may also leave leftover condiments for future guests.
  • 5 bedrooms with king beds & full bathrooms attached (w/showers)
  • 2 common area bathrooms (no showers)
  • Full kitchen w/ ample pantry space, 3 sinks, 2 dishwashers, large fridge and freezer, espresso machine, coffee maker, double oven, etc.
  • Large common areas, including sitting room, dining table that seats 10, living room, billiards and bar room, and spacious outdoor deck and patio with seating.
  • 2 car garage and large parking area
  • Laundry on site with 2 washers and 2 dryers
  • Office space that can be used as needed
  • Additional sleeping space in the form of pull out couches, cots and air mattresses as needed and upon request.
  • Please no more than 20 guests
  • There are 7 wild horses that call White Clouds Preserve home, please keep your distance while exploring the property and beyond.
  • Please keep your distance from the wildlife and avoid disturbing them as much as possible.
  • There are rattlesnakes locally. Please be aware. If you would be more comfortable hiking locally with walkie talkies, let us know and you can borrow some.
  • There are not necessarily any designated trails at WCP at this point in time. You are welcome to explore with caution, at your own risk, and with respect for wildlife Please let us know if you need any recommendations.
